What is a HT (ATA) adapter?
A Grandstream HT adapter, also known as an Analog Telephone Adapter (ATA), is a device that allows traditional analogue telephones, analogue alarm speech modules, and similar devices to connect to a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) network. In simpler terms, it bridges the gap between your older analogue phone and your data-based phone system.
If you do not need to continue using your analogue phone then it may be better to purchase a VoIP handset as this will provide a better sound quality and removes the need for an adapter.
Please note that you will need to obtain SIP/VoIP credentials from your telephone service provider in order to use either a HT adapter or VoIP handset so please ensure that you have these to hand.
